11.18.08 | Today’s sophisticated utilities are still very vulnerable to the unknown condition and location of the physical infrastructure that carries them to service providers and consumers alike. One point of failure in the infrastructure is all that is necessary to wreak havoc.
Infrastructure is modified continually by contractors, service providers and maintenance technicians. Rarely are these changes documented. The knowledge is usually somewhere but not available to those who have a need to know: technicians, management, first responders, rescue personnel or the military. Perhaps even the help desk would like to know. |

Knowledge Equity Partners, Inc. [KEP] provides software solutions that catalogue and visualize the physical components of telecommunications and other utilities infrastructure in standard nomenclature as defined in the Department of Defense Spatial Data Standards – Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment [SDSFIE] and the ANSI EIA/TIA Commercial Building Standards for Telecommunications Infrastructure. The approach provides a single, authorized and defined source of physical utilities information available to those who have a need to know – whenever and wherever disaster, weather or terrorism strikes. |
